GET YOUR KIDS

JUNIOR TENNIS
PROGRAMME
It’s never been easier to get your kids active and having fun with tennis! Children from three years old can now get stuck into the fun and exciting world of tennis with LTA developed programme, called Youth Tennis.

With LTA Youth Tennis, kids play on shorter courts, with smaller racquets and with slower-moving, lower-bouncing balls. Kids play tennis made just for them, so that they have a great time and want to keep playing and improving. Youth Tennis offers the perfect introduction to the sport, with all the fun and energy of the real thing.
With our support and encouragement, we create a positive environment for children to get started in the game, play and compete. Tennis is fun for kids of different ages and levels - the sport provides many social, health, and psychological benefits with minimal risk of injury. Let your children have early positive experience in sport that will create a lifelong commitment to an active lifestyle.

There are five stages of LTA Youth Tennis - Blue, Red, Orange, Green and Yellow, each with their own court size and type of ball. This tailored approach enables players to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age.

Begin your child's Tennis journey

The fun and eaasy way to bring tennis into your child's life and develop an interest in sport!

Professionally run, simplified tennis programme for children aged 2-3 years. By using fun interactive games we aim to develop a broad range of new skills - working together, following instructions, coordination, balancing, agility and more.
Learn the Basics

This class is an introduction to tennis for children ages 4 to 6. It enables children to learn the basics and how to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities, based on the fundamental areas of balance, co-ordination, agility, movement and racket and ball skills.

The focus is about making it as much fun as possible while teaching them about the sport we love. Blues play with sponge balls and 17 or 19 inch rackets.
Serve, Rally and Score

Red Stage is just like the real game and gives players opportunities to have long rallies and play different types of shots. Coaches will help children to further develop their co-ordination, balance and speed.

Players are encouraged to play fun competitions in teams and as individuals, with short, relaxed matches using tie-break scoring. Red stage is played on small courts with short rackets and soft balls.

Develop a Rounded Game

Time to throw in some tactics, different shots, problem-solving, and guides to sportsmanship and leadership. At this stage, children will know all of the rules and will be serving and returning in matches.

It is generally played with shorter rackets and softer balls, and courts are bigger and wider than the Red stage but still smaller than full-size tennis courts allowing players to develop a rounded game whilst learning a range of techniques and tactics.
Test Your Skills

It’s time for kids to play on full size courts. Now it’s all about growing their game by fine tuning and refining the techniques they’ve learned so far.

Kids should now be in a position to act more independently on court, develop further and improve all aspects of their game.
Take Your Skills Further

Time to find your game.

It’s all about playing on a full size court with the same size balls the pros use. Kids will continue to explore different styles on court and start to choose their own.

By this point we hope kids will be tennis players, and fans of the game for life!

PRIVATE LESSONS

Your children can also have private (one-on-one) or semi-private (together with a friend/brother/sister/etc.) lessons with Canada Water Tennis - it is a great way to spend individual time with a coach, working exactly on what your child needs to work on. It can often be the key to unlocking the potential in your child's game. This is a good option if you require a flexible schedule, or as an important addition to the term classes.
