    It has never been easier to pick up a racket and start your life as a tennis devotee. Adults of all ages and skill levels are beginning lessons every day - tennis lessons aren’t just for kids.

At Canada Water Tennis we have experienced tennis coaches who specialise in giving professional tennis lessons to people of all ages and skill levels. One of our goals is to make you feel as comfortable as possible, especially if it is your first ever lesson. After your first lesson we are confident you will be eager to get back on the court as soon as possible!

Adult Group tennis lessons are a fun way to improve your game by taking group instruction from our qualified coaches and mixing in with players of a similar standard at an affordable price.


Never picked up a racket before? The last time you played was at school? Or maybe you would like a slower tempo to build your skills and confidence? Our Adult Beginner group classes are perfect for you - these classes provide an excellent way for adults to learn the basic techniques to play forehands, backhands, begin to rally and serve and work on co-ordination and footwork skills. We aim to get players into game play scenarios right from day one while also learning basic skills in a welcoming, dynamic and fun environment.

After the first block, if you are progressing quickly you can move on to the Adult Improvers or if you need more time you can continue in the Adult Beginners class till your coach feels you are ready to move up.


Adult Improvers course is for more experienced players that are able to keep a 10 shot rally going consistently but need to develop their skills further. If you know the basics and have played tennis for some time but want to take your game to the next level by learning more advanced techniques and tactics, this is the right class for you. Players who have completed the Beginner course and feel ready for more advanced coaching can move into the Improver Level courses.

You will be challenged a lot, we will work hard on developing the correct techniques and play more points! We will also work on spins (topspin and slice) and direction with the groundstrokes; depth with the volley and accuracy on the serve.

The Intermediate course is for players who can rally with topspin consistently from the back of the court for 20 balls+ in a row, control the volley with depth and direction and serve consistently.

At this level we continue to work on your technical skills and apply them in matchplay situations. Improve your accuracy, ball control and decision-making skills - our sessions will enable you to excel in the game! You’ll develop your tactical awareness and improve your physical fitness, using drills specific to game situations.
    We also offer Mixed Drills sessions - energetic and dynamic classes that help to improve your game and fitness; these sessions also include matches with other players.

If it’s difficult for you to make an objective self-rating, we recommend asking our coach to decide for you.

    Our private (one-on-one) & semi-private (together with a friend/partner/etc.) tennis lessons are a great way to spend individual time with a coach, working exactly on what you need to work on. Get kick started in tennis, or if more advanced player improve your game even further and build better player confidence.

    Cardio Tennis is a fun, sociable group fitness class set on a tennis court and open to people of all ages and abilities. Supported by motivating music and qualified instructor, you’ll get to hit lots of tennis balls during your class and have a great cardio workout at the same time. It is a high energy fitness activity that combines the best features of tennis with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full body, calorie burning aerobic workout.

What is a typical class like?
Your Cardio Tennis coach will lead you through a 60 minute class consisting of a short warm up and cool down either side of a 40 minute full body workout:
  • Warm up - Some dynamic stretching, skills and drills to get your body warm and mind sharp before the workout begins;
  • Aerobic section - Here’s your chance to hit loads of shots, including forehands, backhands, serves and volleys, all mixed with a variety of fitness activities;
  • Tennis section - Put your shots into practice with fun tennis games. You’ll never play one-on-one - your team mates will be with you all the way;
  • Cool down - Well done, you made it! Now it’s time to recover and stretch.
What do I need to bring?
Bring along your own racket and wear comfortable gym kit and trainers. You’ll be working up a sweat, so don’t forget to bring a water bottle too!

Do I need to be good at tennis or be fit?
No, Cardio Tennis is for anyone who wants to have fun getting fit and have a go at tennis. The class moves along quickly, so no one will be judging your skills, and it doesn’t matter whether the ball goes in or out.
